❓ Why do I see differences between the Report data and the New article performance bar data in Insights?

If you create a report and add Website details, you will get Keymetrics panel (below).

This view is the same view you can find in the app on the Website page (below), and individual Section and Author pages.

However, you can notice that sometimes, these numbers differ, even when the period you have selected is the same (in the app, and in the report you created), and you can ask yourself, why is this the case.

Depending on the delivery time of the report, you can see the differences in numbers because the report will process the data it has up until the moment of generating. While if you look at the data in the app later on, the data might be different, because the traffic is different (new traffic came for these articles).

Example
You have a weekly report that shows website performance (Website detail is added to the report as a block). It is coming every Monday, early in the morning, and you take a look at Keymetrics in this report. It shows you all the traffic of the articles that were published last week, which was acquired up until that moment, and you see the growth and/or decline of various metrics there.
On Thursday, around 2 pm, you go to see the same panel you have in the report from Monday for articles from the last week, but you want to see data on the Website page (not in the report). You go to the Website page, but you notice that the numbers are different, because now, the data you are looking at reflects additional traffic that was acquired by those articles until now, Thursday at 2 pm.
So, when you compare the report with the app data, you see the differences, and you know that this is due to the fact that last week's published articles are getting new traction.
