Use UTM-tags to define newsletter-segment

To effectively monitor the performance of your newsletters, it is essential to utilize the appropriate tagging. This allows you to identify which stories were accessed through each newsletter. Furthermore, tracking the traffic generated by your newsletters, along with the timing of these interactions, is crucial. Additionally, analyzing newsletter engagement can provide valuable insights, enabling you to receive notifications about which stories are resonating most with your audience.

We suggest adding the utm-tags in the following combination:

  • utm_source: newsletter
  • utm_medium: email
  • utm_campaign: name_of_the_newsletter*

* you may consider adding the date of the newsletter, to also filter on the utm_campaign in Insights on newsletter-level.
